Low Voltage Emergency Switchboard
The Low Voltage Emergency Switchboard from Guang Cai Electric (GCE) is a critical marine power distribution system designed to ensure continuous electrical supply to essential vessel services during main power failures. Built in compliance with marine safety requirements, the emergency switchboard automatically manages emergency power transfer and distribution, maintaining operation of vital equipment such as navigation systems, emergency lighting, communication systems, fire detection systems, alarms, and safety equipment.
Description
The Low Voltage Emergency Switchboard serves as the central emergency power distribution hub onboard vessels. In the event of a failure of the main switchboard, the system automatically isolates the main power supply and initiates the emergency generator sequence to ensure uninterrupted power to essential ship systems. The switchboard is designed using a modular and frame-combined structure, allowing flexible cabinet arrangements to suit different engine room and electrical room layouts. Its separation-type apparatus design enhances operational reliability while simplifying maintenance, inspection, and component replacement. The system supports automatic power transfer between the main and emergency power sources, ensuring compliance with marine classification society requirements for emergency power systems.

Functional description

Main power failure detection
When the main switchboard loses power, the emergency switchboard automatically detects the power failure condition.

Automatic isolation
The interconnecting breaker between the main switchboard and emergency switchboard automatically disconnects to isolate the faulted power source.

Emergency generator start
The emergency generator starts automatically and supplies power to the emergency switchboard.

Emergency load supply
Essential vessel services receive power from the emergency generator through the emergency switchboard.

Automatic restoration
When the main switchboard power supply is restored: • Emergency generator breaker automatically opens. • Interconnecting breaker reconnects the emergency switchboard to the main switchboard. • Emergency loads are transferred back to the main power source.

Automatic generator shutdown
Following successful power restoration, the emergency generator automatically stops after a preset delay of approximately three minutes.
