Automatic Start Control Box

The GCZQD-2 Automatic Start Control Box from Guang Cai Electric (GCE) is an intelligent engine starting and protection controller designed for marine emergency generators, diesel generator sets, emergency power systems, and auxiliary engines. The unit provides automatic and manual engine starting functions while continuously monitoring critical engine parameters to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Marine Engine Protection & Starting SystemsAutomatic Generator Start Controller

Description

The GCZQD-2 Automatic Start Control Box is designed to manage the automatic starting, monitoring, protection, and shutdown of diesel engines and emergency generator sets. The controller continuously monitors battery voltage, engine speed, lubricating oil pressure, and cooling water temperature. In the event of abnormal operating conditions, the system generates alarms and initiates protective shutdowns when necessary to prevent engine damage. The unit supports both automatic and manual operating modes and incorporates multiple start attempts to improve engine starting reliability during emergency situations.

System functions

Icon

Automatic start mode

Automatically initiates engine starting sequences when required by the vessel power management or emergency power system.

Icon

Manual start mode

Allows operators to manually start and control the engine when required.

Icon

Multi-start function

Performs up to three consecutive automatic starting attempts to improve startup success rates.

Icon

Alarm monitoring

Continuously monitors engine operating conditions and activates alarm outputs when abnormal conditions occur.

Icon

Protective shutdown

Automatically stops the engine under critical fault conditions to prevent equipment damage.

Alarm & protection functions

Icon

Start failure alarm

An alarm is activated if the engine fails to start after three consecutive attempts within 40 seconds.

Icon

Battery undervoltage alarm

Alarm activates when battery voltage falls below: 23 VDC

Icon

Overspeed protection

The engine is automatically stopped and an alarm is activated when engine speed exceeds: 115% of rated speed

Icon

Cooling water high temperature alarm

Alarm activates when fresh water temperature reaches: 90°C ± 2°C

Icon

Low lubricating oil pressure alarm

Alarm activates when lubricating oil pressure falls below: 0.12 – 0.15 MPa

Icon

Critical lubricating oil pressure shutdown

The engine is automatically stopped and alarmed when lubricating oil pressure falls below: 0.08 – 0.10 MPa
