IsoFlap Passive Isolation Valve
The IEP Technologies IsoFlap® is a passive explosion isolation flap valve designed to prevent explosion propagation between interconnected process equipment. It operates without external power or triggering systems, using process airflow during normal operation and automatically closing under explosion pressure conditions to isolate upstream equipment.
Description
The valve is intended for use in dust handling systems such as dust collectors, cyclones, and other industrial process vessels handling combustible dust. During normal operation, the flap remains open due to airflow. In the event of an explosion, the pressure front forces the flap to close and lock, forming a mechanical barrier that limits flame and pressure transmission.
The IsoFlap®-M variant includes integrated monitoring for dust accumulation and flap position, supporting compliance with OSHA, NFPA 654, and NFPA 69 requirements.
