




Polytec Tubes
Polytec Tubes are advanced qualitative gas detection tubes designed to identify multiple unknown gases simultaneously using a single sampling test. Developed by GASTEC Corporation, the Polytec system combines a GV-100S Gas Sampling Pump with specialized multi-layer detector tubes that provide rapid visual identification of hazardous gases through unique color-change reactions. The system is widely used by emergency responders, industrial safety teams, marine operators, firefighters, hazardous materials (HazMat) teams, and confined-space entry personnel for fast gas identification in unknown environments.
Product description
The Polytec Tube System provides a simple and cost-effective method for identifying unknown gases in hazardous environments. Each Polytec tube contains between one and eight reaction layers that react to different gases and vapors. When air is drawn through the tube using a GASTEC sampling pump, specific color changes occur within the layers, allowing users to quickly determine the presence of multiple hazardous substances from a single test.
Unlike conventional detector tubes that measure a single gas, Polytec Tubes are designed for multi-gas qualitative analysis, making them ideal when the composition of an atmosphere is unknown. The system enables rapid decision-making during emergency response, confined space inspections, industrial safety assessments, firefighting operations, and marine tank inspections.
